150,000 Australians under the age of 35 have arthritis. Now they have information specific to their needs.
"I can still remember the day I was told I had this serious form of arthritis. I was just 19 years old and had no idea how it was going to affect my life," says Nadine aged 41 "When you say arthritis to the average person they think of someone old with decrepit joints. They don't think of someone like me with a disease that affects almost every part of my life."
Nadine Garland, a NSW resident, is one of the collaborators of a new booklet written by young people with arthritis for young people with arthritis and published by Arthritis Australia.
"Being young is fantastic and it's a time of great change in our lives. The challenge when you have sore, damaged joints is to participate in life to the max,"....
